Why Work Here?

Imagine working for an agency that provides stimulating and satisfying work, competitive compensation and benefits, comprehensive training, and opportunities for personal growth. In 2009 and 2010, UCP was voted one of the top 100 non profits to work for in Oregon—by our own employees!  Below, you can read about some of the reasons that you might want to join our team.

Making a Difference

If you truly want to make a difference, UCP could be the place for you. Imagine helping people with disabilities live independently in their own homes. Imagine empowering people with disabilities to participate in the community however they choose, whether that’s attending fun vocational activities, volunteering, or working for pay. The people we support have dreams, and you will be helping these dreams come true.

No matter what your particular job is, as a part of UCP, you are helping people with disabilities advance their independence, productivity and full citizenship.  You are truly making “a community for everyone”!

Equality & Diversity

UCP’s employees come from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds and life experiences, and this diversity is part of what makes us a great agency. Everyone here (including the staff and the people we support) is treated with dignity and respect. Come see for yourself!

Training & Development

UCP strives to help our employees feel comfortable and happy in their jobs, and one very important way to do that is to train and support them thoroughly.

Join us, and you’ll start with one week of office-based training, where you’ll learn all about our mission, our values, and how best to help the people we support on their journey to independence. After that, you will receive plenty of on-the-job training and support.
